Job Title: Director of Grants and Project Management

Position Summary
The Director of Grants and Project Management serves as the primary lead for the Utah Hospital Association’s grants and major projects. This position oversees day‑to‑day grant administration, project coordination, fiscal compliance, contract execution, and stakeholder engagement across all key activities.
The Director ensures UHA meets all federal and state requirements, manages competitive funding cycles, supports healthcare projects statewide, and delivers timely reporting. Grant writing and grant management experience as well as a PMP certification are preferred.
Key Responsibilities
Grant Administration & Compliance
- Lead full lifecycle management of major grants and projects
- Maintain compliance with state and federal regulations
- Prepare monthly reimbursement requests and ensure documentation meets state and federal procurement standards
- Coordinate weekly meetings with key stakeholders and maintain continuous communication channels with partners
- Manage quarterly/annual reporting and documentation requirements
- Ensure all activities adhere to federal expenditure timelines and fiscal‑year spend‑down requirements.
Project Management & Fiscal Oversight
- Manage timelines, deliverables, and milestones across all grants and projects
- Develop project plans, risk mitigation strategies, and performance dashboards
- Lead outreach strategies and technical assistance processes
- Execute and manage contracts
- Track measurable outcomes, fiscal compliance, and contract obligations.
- Conduct ongoing reviews of expenditures, budget alignment, and sustainability plans.
- Prepare quarterly progress reports and present findings to leadership
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in healthcare administration, public administration, business, finance, or related field.
- Demonstrated experience managing complex, multi‑stakeholder projects.
- Strong financial acumen, including budgeting, invoicing, reconciliation, and compliance tracking.
- Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage multiple concurrent deadlines.
- Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office or Google Workspace.
Preferred Qualifications
- Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification
- 5+ years of experience in grant writing/grant management, project management, or public‑sector program administration.
- Experience working with federally funded programs or large public‑sector grants.
- Background in healthcare, hospital administration, or health‑system transformation.
